We run this programme according to the whale sharks' known appearance schedule in the Saleh Bay area of Sumbawa, to increase your chances of an encounter. Because the cost is shared with other participants, it's considerably more affordable than a private trip — but it runs on a fixed schedule we've already set, not a date of your own choosing.

Day 1
Overland Lombok – Sumbawa
- 09.00Meeting point in Mataram City, the Senggigi area, Bangsal Harbour, or Kuta Mandalika, then heading to Kayangan Harbour, East Lombok
- 14.00Arriving at Kayangan Harbour, crossing by ferry to Poto Tano Harbour, Sumbawa
- 16.00Arriving at Poto Tano Harbour, continuing the journey to Labuan Jambu Village, roughly 5 hours
- 22.00Arriving at Labuan Jambu Village, checking into the hotel and resting

- Solo travellers and visitors from Lombok or Bali who want a more affordable option and don't mind following a fixed schedule.
- Best Time to Visit
- April to November is the best window: calmer seas, clearer water, and the bagan fishermen operating regularly. If your dates are flexible, avoid January to March when the weather turns unpredictable.
