Sumbawa Regency
Bungin Island
A densely built Bajo settlement constructed atop a stretch of sea coral.

Bungin Island is a Bajo community settlement on Sumbawa's north coast, built on top of coral reef. The island is known for how densely packed it is — houses stand very close together, and the island keeps expanding as residents fill in coral to build new homes. A visit here is more of a cultural experience, observing daily coastal life.
